REPAIR WELDING USING SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING (STICK)

This intermediate repair welding class using shielded metal arc welding course is designed to enable trainees with previous welding experience to improve their skills in more advanced welding procedures used in plant maintenance applications. Emphasis will be placed on weld repairing broken machinery parts, weld surfacing worn parts, repairing, altering, or fabricating structural steel and repair welding cast iron. (Approximately 20% for the training time will be classroom instruction and 80% hands on welding practice)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. To prepare the metal for welding.
2. Select the proper welding current.
3. Select the correct electrode.
4. Preheat/Post heat the metal.
5. Make successful repair welds.

TOTAL HOURS: 80 Hours
CLASS SIZE: 6 Maximum
PREREQUISITE: Some shielded metal arc welding experience.
