OXY-FUEL WELDING CUTTING AND BRAZING

The oxy-fuel welding cutting and brazing course is designed to enable the trainee to safely set-up and operate oxy-fuel welding and cutting manual equipment. Emphasis is placed on improving cutting skills on plate, pipe and structural steel. Advanced cutting practice includes bolt and nut cutting, bearing removing, and weld scarfing. Emphasis is also placed on the application of brazing (silver soldering) and braze welding - a method that is useful for repairing broken cast iron parts, or for joining copper alloys.
(Approximately 20% will be classroom instruction and 80% will be hands-on practice)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Employees will be able to manually cut plate, pipe, and structural steel. Braze and braze weld steel, cast iron, and copper alloys.
