GAS METAL ARC, OR FLUX CORED ARC WELDING PIPE

This is an advanced welding course designed to provide participants with instruction on welding piping systems, and structural pipe applications using the gas metal arc, or flux cored arc welding process. The course provides instruction in both roll welding, and fixed position welding on carbon steel pipe. The participant is guided through the various welding positions, beginning with the easiest, then working to the more advanced procedures a skill and confidence are developed. (10% theory 90% hands on instruction)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Prepare pipe for welding.
2. Weld in all positions.
3. Qualify a test weld in accordance with a national code or specification.

TARGET GROUP: Previously Experienced Welders
TOTAL HOURS: 40 Hours
CLASS SIZE: 6 Maximum
PREREQUISITES: To achieve full benefit of the course the student must be able to weld both fillet and groove welds using the gas metal arc, or flux cored arc welding process on carbon steel plate in all welding positions.
