Training Services:

BASIC SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING

This basic welding course is designed to enable a trainee with little to no welding experience produce acceptable quality welds using the oldest, but still most widely used versatile welding process. The trainee will receive instruction in the set up and adjustment of welding equipment, selection of filler metals, and all position welding techniques. (Approximately 30% of the trainee's time will be technical instruction and 70% will be hands on practice)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Enable the trainee to set up and operate shielded metal arc welding equipment including:
1. Welding current selection
2. Electrode selection
3. All position welding techniques

TARGET GROUP: Maintenance Mechanics, Millwrights, Toolmakers, Machinery Repairmen
TOTAL HOURS: 40 Hours
CLASS SIZE: 6 Maximum
